Part of what I love about my job is being able to get to know some fabulous and amazing people. I love to talk; and with the job that I do, it’s not JUST about beauty and making people feel a little extra special, but also getting to connect and talk to people. It makes my job seem more special. I read this quote this weekend while flipping through a devotional book and LOVED it and had to share:
” I am convinced that God has built into all of us an appreciation of beauty and has even allowed us to participate in the creation of beautiful things and places. It may be one way God brings healing to our brokenness, and a way that we can contribute toward bringing wholeness to our fallen world.” – Mary Jane Worden
What I love most about this, is that it resonates with my life, and my job. Working in the beauty industry, it seems as though everything is about the surface level/physical appearance, but in all actuality, it does not have to be. I strive to emphasize a beautiful soul and a beautiful heart just as much as physical beauty. When relating this quote to my life I say, God GAVE ME the appreciation of beauty, and has allowed ME to participate in creating beautiful things so that I can help heal my brokenness and maybe be there for others who have hurt in their life, make connections and friendships with others, LOVE, and strive to bring small amazing changes to the world.
I love the quote above, because I feel like it is one many of us can relate to. Beauty does not change our eternal life, but beautiful hearts do.
